You may recall hearing about chemical dangers and non-stick pans a few years ago. This was when PTFE contained PFOA and easily degraded under very high temperatures. Not only does our Easy Clean Non-Stick coating NOT contain PFOA, but Clara is not cookware and never reaches temperatures high enough to degrade non-stick coatings. Wood components that are exposed to high heat and moisture, such as the lid pull and handle, may eventually dry out and crack (like repeatedly putting a cutting board in a dishwasher).<\/p>\n<p>To prevent this, we recommend periodically applying any food safe mineral oil to the lid pull &amp; handle once per month &#8211; and buffing with a soft cloth.
